And she said to those who were there, “This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth.” 72 And again, he denied it with an oath, “For I do not know the man.” 73 And after a little while, those who were standing nearby came and said to Peter: “Truly, you also are one of them. For even your manner of speaking reveals you.” 74 Then he began to curse and to swear that he had not known the man. And immediately the rooster crowed. 75 And Peter remembered the words of Jesus, which he had said: “Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” And going outside, he wept bitterly. |
